Excuse me please I live here!

Excuse me please I live here!

Well, Mr Peacock didn’t say that exactly but he sure as heck ment it… I stood and watch as this nobel bird walked down the hill and across the bridge. I nealt down and held the camera a little above the ground and manual focused, I had the wrong lens on again! I rattled off a few frames and this one was the best of the three. Mr Peacock then brushed past me without a shred of fear his tail feathers dusting my shoes in the process. He headed home to his favourit tree for the night that as it happens overhangs the restaurant… Then at 5.30 tomorrow morning there are scraps in abundence from the previous nights diners. Who ever coined the term ‘bird brain’ was a fool!

Is this peacock is posing !

Perhaps this peacock is posing?

While walking past the restaurant this brilliantly plumed peacock let out a loud call almost at ear level. I hadn’t seen him perched on a wall tucked between two shrubs but within milli seconds we sure heard him. I stopped and lifted the camera to my eye level and released the shutter. As soon as the shutter clicked he turned his head to the other side as if to suggest that he was trying show his best side. This was repeated several time until he turned strutted off to his roost for the night…

Cataract Gorge east of the sentinel

Cataract Gorge east of the sentinel after a short sharp shower. I seems the gardeners have been busy as many of the dead she oaks along the sentinel path have at last been removed. In some areas along the path the river had become almost totally obscured… Not good with the number of tourists making the trek up to the lookout.
